Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Judy Montessori Primary School opened in January 2023 in Mare D'Albert, in the south of Mauritius. The school blends the Montessori Method with the local Mauritian curriculum to offer an integrated educational experience. The Director's Message describes the origins of Judy Montessori as a collaboration between Steven Lamy and Eric Potin beginning in 2018, which led to the creation of Judy Montessori Primary School. The government-aligned calendar runs from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm from January to early November, and Parent/Teacher conferences are held each term to discuss student progress. Education thrives on collaboration between educators and engaged families for the child's welfare and development.

Community

Education is a partnership between educators and participatory families, creating a close-knit community that supports each child's welfare and development. It welcomes Mauritian residents and expatriates from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, promoting awareness, understanding, respect, and tolerance among students. The school's facilities and activities support school life, including a science lab, drama and music classes, swimming instruction with a coach at Blue Bay, a canteen offering healthy meals, and a lecture theatre that develops public speaking and presentation skills. Parent/Teacher conferences are held each term to keep families connected with student progress.
