Parent Experience

History
The true adventure began in 1952 with the first classes of what would become Lycée La Bourdonnais, held in three rooms of Dr Rey





premises. In September 1953, around sixty students aged 5–14 enrolled at Collège La Bourdonnais in a house rented on Curepipe Road. To accommodate growth, the Lycée La Bourdonnais Company bought land on Rue Sainte-Thérèse in 1961, financed by a loan from Alliance Française de Paris, a Mauritian government loan, and private donations. In 1972, as enrollment continued to rise, the collège and lycée moved to new buildings at Forest-Side, while the primary remained on Rue Sainte-Thérèse. In 2001, a new complex was built on Rue Gustave Bestel in Forest-Side for kindergarten and primary, and the lycée was renovated and expanded; France provided significant embassy support, and the school remains AEFE-conventioned within the global network of French schools.

Community
Since its beginnings, LLB has pursued culture, excellence and the development and well-being of its students. Mauritian culture is celebrated within the school community in all its diversity. Submit a complete secondary admission dossier, including a filled admission form and the decision of admission for the requested class (orientation dossier, end-of-year report). Also provide a certificate of withdrawal from the previous establishment. Additional documents include the birth certificate or copy of the family record, the identities of both parents (passports or identity cards), copies of the last three quarterly reports, the health booklet (vaccination), the parents' residence permit or occupation permit (if non-Mauritian), a proof of residence, and custody documents if applicable.
