Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

The IPC International Primary Curriculum is used in the Primary Section (Years 1–6) to develop knowledge, skills, and understanding through meaningful learning. Learning takes place through thematically connected units across Science, History, Geography, Health & Well-being, Design, Technology and Innovation, International, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Literacy is taught through phonics, grammar, reading, and writing, supported by Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar. Assessment is ongoing and designed to tailor instruction, with IPC Exit Points used to showcase learning.

Arts and Creative

Arts are integrated into IPC learning, with Art and Music embedded across subjects. The Primary curriculum includes literacy and creative expression through projects and performances. Extra-curricular opportunities include drama as part of ECAs, alongside sports and other activities. Creative expression is encouraged through presentations and exhibitions tied to unit work.

Cultural and Language

French literacy is taught as a core literacy subject from the start of primary school. In Year 1, early French reading uses La Planète des Alphas, a phonics-based programme that makes learning sounds and letters fun. From Grade 2 to Grade 6, the curriculum follows the French National Curriculum adapted for an international setting. Our inclusive approach supports native and non-native speakers and nurtures francophone culture.

Social and Hobbies

Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs) are offered after school from 14:30 to 15:30. Options have included football, aerial acrobatics, drama, and athletics, varying by term. ECAs are run by trusted external coaches and providers, and families sign up directly with providers.

Community and Service

Strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success. Parents are invited to Exit Points at the end of each unit to celebrate and share learning journeys. Parents contribute by joining field trips, sharing expertise in class, and supporting community initiatives. Communication with families is maintained through a Weekly Learning Menu and Class Dojo.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Health and wellbeing are prioritized; there is no on-site canteen, so students bring their own healthy snacks and lunches. First aid trained staff are on campus at all times, and a school nurse is planned for future development. Weekly PE lessons and House competitions promote fitness and teamwork, and Sports Day is a yearly highlight.
