Refunds, withdrawal and non‑payment policies
- Annual book fee: non-refundable if the learner does not take up the offered place. If the school withdraws the offered place, the book fee will be refunded in full.
- Withdrawal notice: one full calendar month's written notice is required to withdraw a learner; November may not be used as a notice month. Where adequate notice is not given, school fees remain payable in lieu of notice.
- Grade 12: all Grade 12 fees must be fully paid by 1 October of the school year.
- Non-payment consequences: learners with accounts 30 days overdue may be excluded from classes and activities; suspension of admission may follow if unpaid after a further 14 days; accounts 90+ days overdue may be referred to attorneys for collection and legal costs will be charged to the account holder. Parent Experience

History

Founded in 1961, Walvis Bay High School became Walvis Bay Private High School and was registered as an Incorporated Association Not for Gain. In 1995 it became a private school under the Namibian Ministry of Education, with English as the official medium of instruction and Afrikaans retained as a First language subject. In 2001 the school was re-registered as a Private School with a small subsidy, and the Primary Phase began. The Primary Phase expanded from 2009, and the Old Scholars Association and the Walvis Bay Private High School Education Trust were established in 2010. By 2014, the 53rd anniversary saw growth to 670 learners and 49 teachers, the Primary School's fifth year, completed extensions for the Primary Phase, and the NSSC Curriculum extension for Grade 12; a new school uniform and sport uniform were introduced, and the year also featured the Desert Sport Festival and a school musical.

Community

WBPS maintains an active school community with a named Old Scholars Association and a registered Education Trust. A Parent-Teacher Association coordinates activities across grades, engages parents and staff, and supports school events and fundraising. The school also hosts cultural and sporting events, including the Astra Culture evenings (began in 1998), the Guppy Concert, and the Desert Sport Festival, as well as annual prize givings and inter-house/inter-school activities.
