Brookstone offers an expansive array of middle and upper school clubs, including Aquarium Club, Art Club, Bird Club, Book Club, BSU, Chess Club, FIRE Club, The Grateful Dead Club, Math Club, Senior Citizens Social Club, Theatre Helps, Creative Writing Club, Crumbl Cookie Club, Culinary Club, French Club, Guitar Club, History Club, Robotics, Science Olympiad, Serving in Style Club, Sourdough Club, Spanish Club, STEM Club, Holiday Party Club, Notes for GOATS, X-Treme Sports & Outdoors Club, and FCA. Honor societies include National English Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, National Classical League, Société Honoraire Français, Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica Nacional, National Science Honor Society, National History Honor Society (RHO KAPPA), Tri M, International Thespian Society (Thespian Troupe 2936), Zeta Omicron, and the National Art Honors Society.
Visual Arts is offered from Lower through Upper School, with a Foundations of Art curriculum and courses in Drawing, Painting, Ceramics/Pottery, Sculpture, and AP Art and Design; Upper School portfolios are developed through advanced art study. The Performing Arts program features a robust theatre program with multiple annual productions, opportunities for involvement across grade levels, and recognition for regional and state competition results. The Music program provides choir, piano, and other vocal/instrumental offerings, with performance opportunities and ensembles connected to broader festivals and competitions. The Brookstone Arts Alliance (Arts BPA) supports the Fine and Performing Arts through fundraising, events, production support, visiting artists, and outreach programs.
French Club and Spanish Club are offered for Middle and Upper School students, with language-focused honor societies such as Société Honoraire Français (French Honor Society) and Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica Nacional (Spanish Honor Society). Latin language study and related honors are recognized through National Classical League/LATIN honors, reflecting the school's emphasis on language and cultural culture. Brookstone fosters community involvement through the Prefect Program, the school's primary student leadership initiative designed to increase leadership opportunities and provide training. The Serving in Style Club provides service-oriented activities, and Brookstone Extended offers licensed after-school programming with enrichment activities. The Brookstone Prefect Program is the primary student leadership program, aimed at increasing leadership opportunities, providing structure, relevance, and leadership training, with selective merit-based criteria for participation.
Brookstone provides a comprehensive athletics program with 24 varsity athletic sports and a history of state championships; facilities include five playing fields, two gymnasiums, ten tennis courts, an outdoor track, and Mack Strong Stadium. Counseling and Wellness services are anchored by dedicated counselors in all divisions and a full-time nurse, supporting physical, social, cognitive, academic, and emotional well-being. Brookstone Extended offers licensed after-school care with a variety of enrichment programs to support students after dismissal. Wellness resources, including a speaker series and Wellness in 90 videos, supplement daily school life to promote overall well-being.
Brookstone School in Columbus serves students from 3K through Grade 12 on a single 100-plus acre campus. The independent day program enrolls more than 800 students across Preschool, Lower, Intermediate, Middle and Upper Schools, with an AP emphasis in the Upper School and 22 AP classes alongside 18 honors courses. The curriculum is organized by division, offering a play-based Preschool program, a reading and writing workshop approach in the Lower School, and a 1:1 technology environment in Middle School, followed by rigorous college preparatory study in Upper School. The Learning Center provides accommodations for students with learning differences. Facilities include Mack Strong Stadium, five playing fields, two gyms, ten tennis courts, an outdoor track, Turner Center Auditorium, and the Cheves Athletics Center gallery. The school purposefully develops servant leadership and character through programs like the Prefect leadership program and a strong emphasis on service, loyalty, courage, wisdom, and responsibility today.
