Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

Hillcrest School is a K-12 international Christian school with an American curriculum. It is organized into Elementary School (Kindergarten–5th grade), Middle School (6th–8th grade), and High School (9th–12th grade). The school offers Advanced Placement courses to challenge and prepare students for higher education. The mission is to educate global disciples of Christ, fostering critical thinking, faith, and personal growth beyond the classroom.

Arts and Creative

Hillcrest includes arts as part of its extracurricular program. The Extracurricular Activities page states that programs span athletics, arts, music, and service opportunities. Visual and Performing Arts is a component of Student Life, supporting creative expression through the arts. Students have opportunities to participate in arts-related activities as part of their well-rounded education.

Social and Hobbies

Hillcrest provides an extensive athletics program. The Athletics page describes an extra-curricular sports program that includes intramural sports for grades 5-8 (flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, softball, table tennis, golf, track and field). High School interscholastic sports allow tryouts and competition against local schools and club teams. Athletic awards recognize sportsmanship, discipline, and skill.

Community and Service

Stuco plans and carries out projects to maintain and improve the student body's standards and to contribute services to the Jos community. The National Honor Society emphasizes service and leadership as core values; membership requires scholarship, service, leadership, and character. NHS eligibility is limited to juniors and seniors, with selection based on Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. These activities connect Hillcrest students with community service and leadership opportunities.

Leadership and Professional

Stuco officers and class representatives are elected for one year, with a structure that includes a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. The National Honor Society emphasizes leadership as part of its four pillars of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Membership in NHS requires meeting a minimum GPA, maintaining proper behavior, and contributing to chapter activities. These programs provide formal pathways for student leadership and professional skills development.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Hillcrest's athletic program is designed to support physical well-being, character, and teamwork. The extra-curricular sports program aims to build discipline, sportsmanship, and positive social behavior. The intramural program offers inclusive participation in flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and other sports for grades 5-8. High School interscholastic sports provide opportunities for higher-level competition and recognition through athletic awards.
