Note: Fees are invoiced on a monthly basis; the month of July is not charged. The school calendar is grouped into the usual three terms (Autumn: August–December = 5 months; Spring: January–March = 3 months; Summer: April–June = 3 months). The per‑term figures below are the monthly fee multiplied by the number of months in that term; the annual figure is the monthly fee multiplied by 11 (July free).

Billing schedule and payment terms
- All fees for school, AKS/SAKS and kindergarten are invoiced for the full calendar month and issued at the start of each month; the month of July is not charged.
- The admission fee for new school or kindergarten enrollments is charged with the place offer and is not refunded.
- Cancellation/termination notice periods:
- School and kindergarten: three months' notice, effective to the end of a calendar month; school fees remain payable during the notice period.
- AKS/SAKS (ganztagsbetreuung): one month's notice, effective to the end of a calendar month.
- Consequences of non‑payment: outstanding claims not paid within the payment terms are forwarded to a debt collection agency.
Boarding
- The school does not operate a boarding/internat service; care offerings are day‑time (kindergarten, school day and AKS/SAKS afternoon care).
Other costs and fees
- Meal contributions for kindergarten and AKS/SAKS are charged monthly as stated above (examples: kindergarten meal NOK 800/month; AKS/SAKS meal fees split by days as shown in the fee schedule).
- Schoolbooks and teaching materials: class‑specific schoolbook lists exist and book costs are borne by parents; book lists for 2025/2026 are published for ordering. Costs vary by class and chosen suppliers.
- Administrative/document fees: reprints of school certificates (Zeugnisse) may be charged — NOK 1,000 per document in certain cases; other extraordinary document handling may incur additional fees depending on work involved.
- Discounts and social support:
- Sibling discount: from the third child attending the school (not kindergarten) a sibling contribution of 35% is granted, subject to conditions; this is credited automatically on the monthly invoice.
- Social discount: families with annual income below 6G (folketrygdens grunnbeløp) may apply for a social discount; applications are assessed by the school administration/board and must be re‑submitted each calendar year.
Refunds and cancellations
- The admission fee charged at acceptance of a place is not refundable.
- During any notice period (school/kindergarten: three months; AKS/SAKS: one month) the applicable fees remain payable for the duration of that notice period. Failure to pay fees during that period may trigger debt collection procedures.
Fee payment options
- The school requests fee payments via Avtalegiro (automatic bank direct debit); the school contract and fee regulations specify that payments should be made through Avtalegiro for a rational and cost‑efficient procedure. Details of the direct‑debit arrangement are part of the contractual/fee documentation.
Final notes (factual and practical)
- Monthly invoicing and the July non‑charge are standard practice; all amounts above are shown in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and reflect the school's published fee schedule. For administrative matters (invoice recipient, contact points, deadlines) the school provides specific contact details for the kindergarten, primary and secondary secretariats.

Deutsch-Norwegische Schule Oslo is a private bi-cultural school in Oslo, recognized by both Germany and Norway, serving students aged 1 to 18. The school delivers a bilingual German–Norwegian education across all stages, with instruction in German, Norwegian, English and French, and a bilingual history program. From kindergarten through Abitur, students earn both the German Abitur and the Norwegian Vitnemål, enabling access to higher education worldwide.
