Bangladesh School Muscat was established in 1996 under the sponsorship of the Bangladesh Embassy in Oman. It is governed by a Board of Directors, which includes embassy representatives among its members; the Board is chaired by Engineer Kazi Emdad Hossain. The principal is Mr. James Edward Honiball.
Bangladesh School Muscat (BSM) provides education from Kindergarten through Year 12 in Muscat, Oman. Established on November 3, 1996, the school follows a Pearson Edexcel curriculum (British system), with a structured progression from Reception II through Class 12. In Reception II, the programme includes Bangla, English, Mathematics, GK and Science; across later years, Bangla and English remain core subjects, and English is the language of instruction while Bangla is taught as a language subject. The school offers Edexcel-based examinations and Class 11-12 subjects include science, commerce, and IT, reflecting a British-style structure. Facilities include spacious classrooms, a library, a bookstore, a canteen, biology and chemistry labs, a computer lab, a physics laboratory, and a multipurpose hall; a prefectorial system supports student leadership. Extracurricular activities include cultural festivals, science fairs, debates and sports competitions, reflecting a focus on language, culture and STEM-related opportunities.
