Indian School Muladha began in 1991 in a small building with 9 teachers and 90 students. It is an English-medium co-educational school affiliated to CBSE. The campus now spans 16 acres and supports around 2100 students and about 80 staff. ISML is part of the Indian Schools in Oman network governed by a Board of Directors that oversees 21 schools. In 2019, the Indo-Oman block was inaugurated, expanding the school's facilities with 27 classrooms.
ISML serves students from the Indian community and welcomes students from other nationalities. The school hosts national-day celebrations and independence-day events, along with cultural programs that involve families and the wider community. An Indo-Oman block inauguration in 2019 highlighted cross-cultural engagement and growth in infrastructure. Annual Day functions are a focal point of community involvement and have featured guests such as government officials and local leaders.
ISML is governed by a School Management Committee (SMC) that represents the Indian community. The 2025-2026 SMC roster lists office-bearers including President Mr. M.T. Musthafa and Convenor Ms. Ashifa Asif, with a treasurer and chairs for subcommittees. Subcommittees include Academic, Infrastructure, Welfare, Health & Grievances, IT, Safe Transport, and Sports & Co-curricular, each with designated chairs. The SMC operates within the broader Indian Schools in Oman governance framework, whose Board of Directors oversees 21 schools. Parents participate through the SMC and engage in events such as Annual Day and National Day celebrations; the principal and SMC chair direct parent involvement. The school provides contact channels for parent engagement via the School Management Committee and the principal.
Indian School Muladha (ISML) is an English-medium CBSE-affiliated co-educational day school that opened in 1991. It is located in Al Muladha, Oman, on a 16-acre campus of lush green land that contrasts with the surrounding desert. The school serves students from Balvatika (Kindergarten) through Class XII, organized into 56 sections. ISML offers CBSE curricula with Senior Secondary streams in Science and Commerce. The CBSE-aligned curriculum is structured into four levels: Foundational (Balvatika – Class II), Preparatory (Classes III–V), Middle (VI–VIII), and Senior (IX–XII). Language of instruction is English, with a three-language formula learning English plus a regional language (Hindi or Malayalam) and Arabic. The campus includes multiple laboratories (biology, chemistry, computer labs) and a library, along with spaces for performing arts (dance, music, and arts). Remedial classes and Gurukuilam support academically weak students. ISML emphasizes inter-house sports and cultural activities and hosts interschool festivals, reflecting a broad extracurricular program. A Safe Transport subcommittee oversees transport arrangements, and co-curricular offerings include music and Scouts & Guides as part of the school's activity program.
