1. The Sri Lankan School Muscat is a non-selective school. The admissions procedure is designed to be fair, open and transparent. Places are offered irrespective of academic ability. Children with special needs and learning difficulties will be assessed carefully to determine whether the School is able to effectively address their individual needs.
2. Make the Application ready. Application can be downloaded from the school website or purchased from the school cash counter for 1 OMR. The application can also be referred to in newspaper articles published in March and April. The deadline for submission will be informed at the time of collecting the application and on the school website.
3. Make other documents ready. For the student: Original Birth Certificate (Certified English Translation of Birth Certificate for Non-Sri Lankans); Copy of the information page of the passport (page 2); Copy of the visa page of the passport; 1 photograph in blue background; Progress Report from the previous School; Leaving certificate of the previous school or equivalent document to prove the current grade of the child (if admission is to Year 2 or above); No objection certificate from the current Oman school for transfers; Copy of vaccination card; Medical certificate.
4. Submit the Application and other documents. Submit to the Department of Administration of Sri Lankan School Muscat on or before the deadline. The deadline to submit the application will be informed at the time of collecting the application as well as on the school website.
5. Admission to the School is based on the following things. Interview usually with the Head of the Primary School when seeking admission to the Primary School; Head of Key Stage (Pastoral Leader) when seeking admission to the Senior School. The interviews will give you an opportunity to discuss the curriculum, subject choice and school life. After the interview you will be offered a tour of the School.
6. Availability of places in the relevant year group.
7. Results of assessments in English and Mathematics. These assessments are designed to determine whether a child will be able to access a curriculum that is delivered in the English language.
