Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Founded in 1950, the Colegio Franco Peruano embodies the values of excellence and humanism at the heart of French culture. It belongs to the AEFE network, the largest network of French international schools, and is present in 139 countries. The educational system is homologated with the French Ministry of Education and the Peruvian Ministry of Education. It is bicultural with a long-standing multilingual trajectory. In 2023, construction began on a new campus to enhance facilities and well-being, with delivery planned for the start of the 2025 school year to celebrate the 75th anniversary.

Community

Community life centers on convivencia, intercultural exchange, and integration. From early age, the school encourages students to interact positively with others and to participate in events that involve the whole community. Throughout the school year, numerous events promote convivencia for the entire educational community, including De vuelta al FrancoPé (a cross-country event with a family morning), Fiesta de la Música (Music Festival), and La Fête du FrancoPé (an end-of-year celebration with student performances, level-based game stands, sports tournaments, and prizes).

Parent-Teacher Association

The school has a governance structure with three representative bodies: the Consejo de Gestión (Council of Management), the Consejo de Establecimiento, and the Consejo de Escuela. The Council of Management approves the budget, develops the institution's policy, and ensures its functioning within the AEFE framework. Its composition includes the president and vice-president of the Asociación Colegio Franco Peruano, the cultural counselor, and the Consul of the Embassy of France. Two parent representatives are elected every two years. It also includes two staff representatives (one local and one AEFE-contracted), the secretary, the director general, and the administrative and financial director. Records of the council's decisions are kept in official documents and drive files.
