Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school has a Psychology Department dedicated to fostering the student's holistic development (cognitive, social, and emotional). It provides a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every student can reach their academic, social, and emotional potential. Through personalized attention and close, coordinated collaboration with teachers, the school leadership, families, and external support when needed, it supports students' wellbeing and development. The department implements prevention and promotion programs for wellbeing and mental health, healthy convivencia, inclusion, and emotional intelligence, and it offers parent orientation on related topics. It conducts psychopedagogical assessment and guidance, provides individualized and group interventions, and coordinates with other departments and external professionals to support students with specific educational needs. It facilitates the integration of new students through welcome workshops and orientation days.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school detects and supports students with specific educational needs through structured protocols (PPS, PAP, PPRE). The Psychology Department provides psychopedagogical assessment and guidance to identify strengths and needs and to support families. It offers individualized and group interventions and collaborates with other departments and external professionals to design and implement curricular adaptations. Protocols for students with specific educational needs (PPS, PAP, PPRE) are in place to coordinate support. The school ensures integrated support through interdisciplinary collaboration and appropriate accommodations.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The school strengthens language learning from early levels and promotes multilingual education as the core of its teaching project. French is the main language of instruction from the first year of preschool, enriched by learning Spanish. At age 6, entering Primary, students begin learning English. In the second year of lycée (Première), students have the option to learn a fourth language: Italian or Portuguese. A tri-lingual International French Baccalaureate section centered on languages and culture was planned to open in 2025. Language study is reinforced by end-of-level certifications: at the end of primary DELF A2, KET A2, and Cervantes A2; at the start of lycée DELF B2, FCE B2, and Cervantes B2.

Mental Wellbeing

The Psychology Department focuses on the prevention and promotion of wellbeing, including mental health, healthy convivencia, inclusion, and emotional intelligence. It organizes parent orientation talks on topics related to education and child development. It provides detection and psychopedagogical guidance to identify cognitive, emotional, and social needs. It offers individualized and group interventions and collaborates with other departments and external professionals to design and follow protocols for students with educational needs. It supports the overall wellbeing of the school community and helps new students integrate.

Safeguarding

The Vida Escolar team is dedicated to ensuring the safety of people and property. It manages attendance, punctuality, and the entry/exit of students, and oversees the overall security and welfare of the campus. The team includes a Chief Education Counselor (CPE), education assistants, and adjunct staff who support safeguarding and student welfare.
