Introduction

Iqra Academy Qatar sits on a purpose-built campus in Muaither, Ar-Rayyan, delivering English-medium instruction with integrated Islamic values. Curriculum

The National Curriculum for England and Wales provides the basic framework for Iqra Academy's broad and balanced curriculum and it meets the National Curriculum Standards for Qatar (MOEHE). The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards for learning, development and care from birth to age five, and the aim of the EYFS curriculum is to build upon and nurture children's natural inquisitiveness, energy and enthusiasm. In Key Stages 1 and 2, the Cambridge Primary Curriculum is used for English, Global Perspectives, Science, ICT/Computing and Art & Design, with Mathematics following the White Rose Maths schemes. In Key Stage 3, pupils study for IGCSE qualifications; compulsory subjects include IGCSE English (language and/or literature or ESL), IGCSE Mathematics, IGCSE Science, Arabic and Islam (MOEHE), with Cambridge IGCSE used for other subjects. Key Stage 5 follows the Cambridge International Examinations Board specifications, offering Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, ICT, English Literature and PE, with Arabic required for pupils whose first language is Arabic. Islamic Programs include Qura'an Memorisation (minimum four lessons per week for all pupils), Usool-Ul-Deen (three lessons per week in KS3–KS4–KS5) and The Prophet's Seerah (one weekly lesson for EYFS–KS2).
