Admissions

Admissions

1. Online application and admission process. Parents apply online via www.tngqatar.com. The Registrar reviews the application and forwards it to the Ministry PRO for the student's status to be checked in the National Student Information System by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. If there is feedback or missing documents, it is shared after the review. After the parent Reverts, the application is reviewed again and the assessment is scheduled. If the student meets the entrance criteria, an admission offer is sent; otherwise the parent is informed. All formal communication regarding the application status is via email.

2. Required documents. Documents for the candidate include: Copy of a valid Qatar ID (QID); copy of a valid passport; copy of birth certificate; two recent passport-sized photographs; copy of the most recent or final term report card clearly showing the student's name and grades; School Leaving Certificate (SLC) issued by the previous school; No Objection Certificate (NOC) or Transfer Certificate from the previous school, confirming that all dues have been cleared and that the student is transferable through NSIS; copy of vaccination card/certificates; copy of the student's health card; School Entry Final Health Assessment Certificate issued by a health center (appointments can be booked at PHCC); IGCSE O‑Level Statement of Results (required for admission to Year 12, minimum grade C); CAIE AS‑Level Statement of Results (required for admission to Year 13); for students transferring from outside Qatar, the latest report card must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the issuing country and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar. Documents for Parents/Guardians include: Copy of a valid Qatar ID; copy of a valid passport; copy of residence address (Blue Board); Employment letter from the parent/guardian's workplace; enrollment/enrollment form.

3. Eligibility and English language. The candidate must pass the entrance assessment test; possess a valid Qatar ID; provide the previous school's report card; if the previous school is outside Qatar, documents must be attested by the relevant authorities and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar; the child must speak and understand basic English and demonstrate good behavior; there must be seat availability; the candidate must meet all criteria defined by the MoEHE.

4. Age group and placement. The placement is offered according to the age criteria established by MoEHE and the Cambridge International curriculum; the school may allow a flexibility margin of up to four months from the standard age requirement based on prior schooling, assessment results, interview results and readiness. Kindergarten uses an oral assessment for Early Years and a written assessment for Reception; potty-training is mandatory for Kindergarten.

5. Initial assessment test and interview. The initial assessment test is mandatory for all candidates; Year I–VIII tests cover English and Numeracy, while Year IX and above test cover Science. If required, Kindergarten candidates are assessed through oral/written assessments appropriate to their age group. Passing scores vary by year level (for example, Year 1 requires 60% and Year 9 requires 80%). If applicable, candidates who pass the assessment may be invited to a face-to-face interview conducted in English by the Principal, to assess academic competencies and other attributes.

6. Admission offers and acceptance. The Registrar offers admission to candidates who meet all eligibility criteria and pass the assessment (and interview, if applicable). The admission offer must be accepted by the parents within five (5) working days, with a possible extension of up to five additional working days in writing.

7. Campus placement. Placement may be offered at any TNG campus according to the availability of the program, seat, and the area where the candidate resides; a student may be transferred to another campus as needed to accommodate seat availability and program fit.

8. Medical conditions and records. Current medical, mental, and psychological health information must be provided and updated as circumstances change; records of medical treatments, allergies and vaccinations are required at registration. TNG is a mainstream school with limited specialist resources; each application is reviewed case‑by‑case to determine if the school can meet the student's needs as outlined in medical files and reports.

9. Behaviour. Placement is subject to good conduct and behavior; a positive attitude to learning and respect for the school community is expected of all students.

10. Re-admission. Re-admission may be considered for students who maintained a good disciplinary record; re-admission for a student with an educational gap is possible and may be given priority.
