UN-Debate Thessaloniki provides students the opportunity to work as UN delegates, including arguing, negotiating, leading and developing solutions for global challenges. Känguru-Wettbewerb Mathematik is held at DSBU as part of math and problem-solving activities. The school participates in events such as the BISAAC Musik Festival, which showcases musical talent and performance opportunities for students.
DSBU hosts performances and concerts as part of its events, including the DSBU concert at Sommerfest. The Sommerfest also features performances by kindergarten and school children, as well as creative activities and play stations that encourage creative expression and social interaction.

The majority of the staff are native German speakers, and Deutsch and Rumänisch are taught as both foreign languages and mother tongues, ensuring a bilingual learning environment. The Projekt SchülerInnen helfen SchülerInnen (ShS) offers peer tutoring in small groups or one-to-one and is free to start during the school year. Deutsche Schule Bukarest is a German Auslandsschule delivering the German curriculum for students aged 1 to 18. The campus combines modern facilities with a strong language focus, and instruction is primarily in German, complemented by Romanian, French and English language programs. The school offers a continuous path from primary through the Deutsches Internationales Abitur (DIA) pathway in the upper levels, with a bridging Grade 10 and the option to complete the Realschulabschluss (MSA) along the way.
