Laboratories support science teaching, and learning spaces are designed to be flexible for various subjects and activities. German is the primary language of instruction for core subjects in primary and secondary education.
Extracurricular offerings include an after-school program for elementary students on a trimester basis, and programs such as Students helping Students, a kindergarten mentoring program, and a peer mediation program to develop social skills.
Deutsche Schule Bukarest is a German Auslandsschule delivering the German curriculum for students aged 1 to 18. The campus combines modern facilities with a strong language focus, and instruction is primarily in German, complemented by Romanian, French and English language programs. The school offers a continuous path from primary through the Deutsches Internationales Abitur (DIA) pathway in the upper levels, with a bridging Grade 10 and the option to complete the Realschulabschluss (MSA) along the way. Facilities include laboratories for science teaching, a dedicated library of over 2,500 titles, and a sports hall that supports physical education and activities. Language competence is central; native German staff and language support create a bilingual environment. Extracurriculars range from UN-Debate participation and math contests to music festivals, concerts, peer tutoring, and kindergarten mentoring. The DSBU community emphasizes student leadership, social development, and service through structured programs and festivals on campus throughout the year.
