Step 1: Contact us. Upon receiving the form, a meeting is scheduled. Meetings can be online or face-to-face. We look forward to connecting with new families and understanding your needs and those of your children.
Step 2: Registration. Registration follows initial contact. Age range is 18 months to Year 13. The school retains the right to place an applicant in the appropriate year group based on assessment. We have procedures in place to make this transition process as smooth as possible, and the school is a truly international community welcoming students from 28 nationalities.
King's Oak British International School is a not-for-profit, UK-affiliated institution in Bucharest, serving ages 1-18. The school offers a British international curriculum across the age range: Early Years Foundation Stage in the early years; Primary follows the English National Curriculum, with targeted EAL support; In Secondary, students follow Cambridge pathways with IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Levels, and Cambridge A Levels. The Key Stage 3 program weaves the English National Curriculum with Cambridge Secondary programmes, aligning with global and UK standards. The school began in 1994 as International Nursery School and has evolved through name changes; it is located by the lake in northern Bucharest. It features specialist teaching in Drama and Music, Art and Design in Primary, and Art/Drama/Design Technology focus in Secondary. Spanish is taught as a Modern Foreign Language.
