The school follows a Cambridge continuum programme across Early Years, Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A-Levels. Early Years begins at 18 months, Primary at 5 years, Lower Secondary at 11 years, IGCSE at 14 years, and A-Levels at 16 years. French is offered and students have the opportunity to pass DELF exams. Acorns Kigali is committed to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
ACORNS Events include Sports Day (Feb 21) and International Francophonie Day for EY and Primary. Open days and parent–teacher conferences are part of school activities to involve families. Newsletters and yearbooks document school events and activities.
Acorns International School Kigali is a day school in Rwanda serving learners from 0 to 18. The school follows a Cambridge continuum, offering Early Years from 18 months, Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Levels, and Cambridge A Levels. The curriculum is complemented by weekly co-curricular sessions in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Practical Life, Physical Education (including swimming), Information and Communications Technology, and Languages (French and Kinyarwanda as mother tongue). French is taught with opportunities to pass the DELF exams. Lunch is provided at school and snacks are brought from home; class sizes are kept small to support individual attention. Assessments include continuous assessments, projects, oral presentations, written reports, Cambridge progression tests, and end-of-term exams.
