AIS has a Child Protection Policy that safeguards children, young people, and vulnerable adults. The welfare of these groups is paramount, and all individuals have the right to be safe and protected from harm. AIS works in partnership with parents/carers and external agencies to promote welfare. The policy sets roles and responsibilities for staff, volunteers, and contractors, and provides training and procedures to respond to concerns. The policy defines abuse (physical, emotional, bullying, sexual, neglect, financial) and outlines reporting steps to AIS management and, if needed, the police. It governs confidential handling of information and requires timely reporting of concerns; it also covers medication administration in relation to safeguarding.
