How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Registration for the 2025-2026 academic year begins March 17, 2025 at 7:30 am. All registrations are completed online on this website. Ms. If she is unavailable, another authorized administrative staff member can receive registration applications and will refer to the mandatory documents list on the registration procedure. 2. Required documents include a photocopy of the child's identity card or passport confirming name, date and place of birth; a photocopy of the guardian(s)' identity card; proof of payment of the entry fees; and an attendance certificate from the child's current school. Upon submission of the complete registration dossier, an acknowledgment of receipt is issued automatically. 3. Entrance fees for 2025-2026 are 300€ for kindergarten and 500€ for primary or secondary, with a maximum of 500€ per family. Fees are payable to Equity Bank accounts in EUR or USD or FRW, or in FRW via MOMO, with the appropriate reference. 4. Families with a child already enrolled at EBK have priority for sibling enrollment (no registration fee) until April 18, 2025. After this date, enrollments follow the standard process, including the full registration fee. 5. On April 28, 2025, the Enrollment Commission sends the decision to parents, indicating whether the child is accepted or placed on the waiting list and the child's position on the waiting list. 6. For re-registration for the 2025-2026 academic year, a deposit is required and will be deducted from the first term tuition. The deposit amounts are 250€ per child (EUR), 271$ per child (USD), or 386,470 FRW per child (or 388,412 FRW via MOMO). The deposit must be paid with the remark “RE-REGISTRATION + Name(s) of the child(ren).” 7) Ensure that the current year's tuition and any outstanding fees from previous years are fully up to date.

Waitlist

If a child is not accepted in the initial round, the child is placed on the waiting list. The school informs parents whether the child is accepted or placed on the waiting list and provides the position of the child on the waiting list.

Located in Kigali, the Belgian School of Kigali is a private international school with a history dating back to 1965. It was created by Belgian cooperation and is now managed by a Rwandan ASBL, with primary funding coming from tuition paid by families. The school serves a multicultural student body from kindergarten through grade 6. All sections follow the programs of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the French Community of Belgium, and Belgian diplomas are awarded and recognized by the Federation, providing graduates with access to universities around the world. The campus emphasizes developing the student's autonomy and places the learner at the center of the learning process, encouraging active participation. The school maintains historical ties with Belgium and collaborates with Rwandan education institutions to support moral, physical, intellectual, and civic education. This combination provides an international, certificate-backed pathway within a small, community-focused setting. Parents appreciate a stable, long-standing Belgian educational tradition.
