Chartwell International School has been successfully operating in Belgrade for 25 years. Chartwell was the first school in Belgrade to offer the British National Curriculum. It is accredited as an international school and an examination center by the University of Cambridge, and recognized by the Serbian Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development. Since it opened in 1998, Chartwell has grown from a Foundation and Primary with about 16 students and 9 staff to a school for children from age 2 to 18, numbering over 1000 students of 60 nationalities and 180 staff.
Chartwell is more than an academic institution; its philosophy encompasses the student's whole personality and balanced development. A range of extracurricular activities, including sports, fencing, dance, drama, and languages, are offered. Students participate in community life by attending workshops, visiting exhibitions and theatres, and taking part in humanitarian activities. Residential trips are organized during the school year; there is a Primary trip and two Secondary trips, including a ski trip.
Chartwell International School Belgrade operates across campuses: Lower Secondary at Uzicka 48a and Upper Secondary at Aleksandra Stamboliskog 21, serving students 2 to 18. The school follows British National Curriculum and offers Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Levels and Cambridge A Levels, within the Cambridge framework and recognized by the Serbian Ministry of Education. Established in 1998, it was the first Belgrade school to offer the British curriculum and is accredited as an international school and Cambridge examination centre, educating over 1,000 pupils from around 60 nationalities with about 180 staff. Facilities at Lower Secondary include a science lab, music room, art room, ICT, media room, language and maths spaces, plus sports fields. Upper Secondary spans 2,250 m with IT and science labs, an art room, library, study hall, dining area and sports facilities. Extracurriculars include STEM Science Olympiad participation, a music and drama program, and poetry and multilingual events.
