The school is a Cambridge International School and a US College Board K-12 school and test center. It offers Cambridge IGCSE and A-level examinations on campus and is an official SAT and AP testing center. The school holds EduTrust, WASC, Cambridge, and College Board accreditations. It provides Individual Plans that customize pace and exam dates with one-to-one support.
Co-curricular activities include Creative Arts & Ceramics and Performing Arts (Speech and Drama). Music offerings include guitar instruction with group and one-to-one lessons. The school also provides Chess, Coding & Robotics, and Athletics as part of the arts and creative framework.
English is the primary language of instruction. Mandarin is offered with customized classes following the HSK syllabus, aiming to pass HSK 4. Additional languages include Spanish, French, Russian, Japanese, Hindi, and Tamil. Foreign Languages are CCAs for non-native speakers; native speakers study them as mother tongue subjects.
CCAs include Music (Guitar), Karate, Chess, Arts, Ceramics, Speech and Drama, and other activities under the co-curricular program. The Athletics CCAs feature Kyokushin Karate and Gymnastics, with tournaments and opportunities to compete.
The Social Program aims to build social harmony and civic responsibility; every student is encouraged to complete community service each year. Examples include free mathematics tutoring for underprivileged children, visiting nursing homes, and visiting orphanages.

5 Steps Academy caters for students aged 5 to 18, offering the International Primary Curriculum for younger years, and the IGCSEs and A-levels for older students.
