Dynamics International School (DIS) was established by Yael Sasson, an experienced occupational therapist who moved to Singapore in 2002. After her son, Benjamin, was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of two, Yael founded the Dynamics Early Intervention Program (EIP) to provide a nurturing educational environment tailored to his needs. Benjamin's successful transition from the EIP to mainstream schooling highlighted the program's effectiveness. Recognizing the need for a more inclusive educational setting as Benjamin progressed, Yael established DIS, aiming to offer an academic and therapeutic pathway that maximizes each student's potential.
DIS fosters a close-knit community that celebrates diversity and inclusivity. The school organizes various community and cultural events throughout the academic year, promoting engagement among students, parents, and staff. These events provide opportunities for families to connect, share experiences, and support one another, enhancing the overall educational experience for students.
While there is no formal PTA, the school emphasizes strong collaboration between parents and educators. This partnership ensures that each child's unique needs are met effectively. Parents are encouraged to participate in school events and initiatives, fostering a supportive and inclusive community.
Dynamics International School (DIS) caters for children from Reception Year through to Grade 3. The school integrates the Cambridge curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), as well as catering to specialist educational needs. A distinguishing feature of DIS is its intentionally small class sizes, typically comprising 6 to 8 students, which allows for individualized attention to each student's unique academic, social, and emotional development. The school employs certified special education teachers and provides access to allied health professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists, ensuring a comprehensive support system.
