The school has served the Bukit Batok community since 1991. It is part of Little Seeds Preschool, a faith-based, bilingual preschool network in Singapore with 17 centres nationwide. The Sonshine centre has a Centre Chaplain who leads Friday Happy Time visits for the children. The graduating class of 2019 performed for President Halimah Yacob at a fundraising event organized by Pasir Ris Family Service Centre, reflecting active community involvement.
