Little Woods Montessori was founded by Isabel Angela Seery, who holds a Montessori Diploma (1995), Diploma in Pre-School & Leadership, and a BA in Childhood & Family Education. She established the school around 1998. Over time, the leadership has included Hafsa Fathah as Director & Principal, certified with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). The company behind the school is LITTLE WOODS MONTESSORI PTE. LTD., incorporated in 2012, and recently the registered address changed from 45 Gentle Road to 330 Balestier Road, Singapore. The school has maintained consistent ownership and direction since its founding, without franchising or expanding into multiple branches.
Little Woods Montessori hosts several cultural and community-oriented events each school year. Celebrations include major cultural festivals in Singapore, such as Chinese New Year, Christmas, Halloween, and a United Nations Day to honour diversity, where parents are invited to share traditions. The school also holds an annual concert and a Graduation Day for Kindergarten 2 students, giving families a chance to come together and celebrate children’s progress. Through initiatives like “Start Small Dream Big,” children engage in community service or social responsibility activities such as visits to eldercare homes or environmental stewardship projects.
Parents at Little Woods Montessori are regularly involved in school life through cultural celebrations, where they may be invited to share family traditions, and through participation in school festivals. They also attend events such as the annual concert and open house. While parent engagement is clearly encouraged, there is no publicly available information indicating the existence of a formal Parent-Teacher Association with an official structure, elected representatives, or scheduled meetings.
Little Woods Montessori Pre-School offers a Montessori education to children aged 18 months to 6 years. The curriculum encompasses areas such as Mathematics, English Language, Practical Life, Sensorial experiences, Culture Studies, and Mandarin, all designed to foster independent thinking and a love for learning. A unique aspect of Little Woods is its commitment to community engagement, exemplified by participation in projects like "Start Small Dream Big," which instil values of social responsibility and environmental stewardship in students.
