Shaws Preschool uses a school uniform. The uniform items include a top and shorts; the uniform top costs $15 and the uniform shorts cost $15.
Morning fruit is provided as a snack, followed by a hot, nutritious lunch with a mix of Asian and Western dishes. Afternoon snacks may include cereal with milk, oatmeal, or corn bread; brown rice and pasta are used, and sugary drinks or heavily processed foods are not served.
Shaws Preschool was established in 1989 by founder Lucy Shaw. Shaws Lorong Chuan is part of a multi-campus group of Shaws Preschools led by campus principals across sites, including Deborah Shaw at Lorong Chuan. The network includes Braddell Heights, Katong Post, Tanjong Katong, Mountbatten, and other campuses.
Shaws Preschool caters for children aged 18 months to 6 years. The curriculum integrates elements of Reggio Emilia, Waldorf Steiner, and Montessori philosophies, encouraging experiential learning through hands-on projects, outdoor exploration, and structured play. A standout feature is its dedicated sports program, led by professional coaches from Shaws Little League, where children engage in activities like soccer, rugby, and basketball.
