Languages of instruction are German and English in the German Stream and French and English in the French Stream. English is emphasized across the curriculum, with younger students primarily taught in English and German or French introduced gradually; in Kindergarten the language of instruction shifts to the target language, with Swiss teachers and English-speaking specialists preparing students in both languages and English. In Primary 1, reading and writing are taught in German/French and English, while science and swimming are taught in English. Higher grades continue to increase English instruction to support progression toward UWCSEA.
