Waseda Shibuya Senior High School was established in April 1991 as a branch of Shibuya Kyoiku Gakuen, in cooperation with Waseda University. It was founded to serve Japanese students living in Southeast Asia who wished to continue their education within the Japanese system.
In April 2002, the school became officially affiliated with Waseda University and was renamed to reflect this partnership. Since then, it has maintained a close relationship with the university, offering a pathway for graduates to enter Waseda and other Japanese universities.
Waseda Shibuya Senior High School has a close-knit community made up of students, teachers, dormitory staff, and families. The school holds several community events throughout the year, including the Seiran Festival, Sports Day, and entrance and graduation ceremonies. Students also participate in club activities and cultural exchange programs. These events help build connection and shared experiences within the school.
Waseda Shibuya Senior High School in Singapore offers a Japanese curriculum for students aged 16 to 18. It is affiliated with Waseda University in Tokyo, where 60% of graduates move on to. Facilities include a gymnasium, an astronomy observatory, and a performing arts theatre, supporting both academic and extracurricular activities. A standout feature is the school's annual cultural festival with performances, art, and food from various cultures. Waseda Shibuya also provides travel opportunities and international exchanges with partner schools in Japan.
