Meal service is offered for Primary and Secondary; a Menu Primary and Secondary is published and allergens are listed (gluten, lactose, walnuts, fish, soy, peanuts, eggs, mustard seeds, sesame seeds, shellfish, lupin, celery leaves, sulfur dioxide and sulphites). The school kitchen prepares meals, with a lunch featuring traditional dishes from nearby European countries and seasonal fruit from local orchards; the aim is to use locally sourced ingredients and to reduce food waste and plastic packaging in lunchboxes.
The European School Ljubljana Programme is provided by the European School Ljubljana, established by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia as an organisational unit within the Ljubljana School Centre.
European School Ljubljana provides an international education for ages 4 to 18 within a European School framework. The Primary Level spans five years and operates in two language sections: English and Slovene, with the first foreign language taught from Year 1 and options including English, German or French, while Slovene is an additional subject. The Secondary Level lasts seven years and concludes with the European Baccalaureate. It is offered in two language sections, Slovene and English; from S1 students study additional foreign languages, and from S3 onward some subjects are taught in the chosen first foreign language. Established in 2018 by the Government of Slovenia, the school sits within the Ljubljana School Centre. The curriculum and facilities cultivate a culturally and linguistically rich environment, supporting international recognition and a smooth transition to national and European schools. Pupils benefit from sustained language development, intercultural understanding, and formal attainment milestones over time.
