English and Slovene are the languages of instruction used across levels. Primary Level has two language sections: English and Slovene; the first foreign language is taught from P1, and students can choose English, German, or French, with Slovene as an additional subject. The Secondary Programme is conducted in Slovene and English; in S1, foreign languages include German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Slovene; from S3 onward, some subjects are taught in the chosen first foreign language. The Secondary Programme ends with the European Baccalaureate.

European School Ljubljana provides an international education for ages 4 to 18 within a European School framework. Established in 2018 by the Government of Slovenia, the school sits within the Ljubljana School Centre.
