Reddam House Umhlanga is a private, co-educational school located on the outskirts of Umhlanga Ridge, Durban, offering an Early Learning School, Preparatory School and an IEB College for learners from 1 year old through Grade 12. The school follows a bespoke curriculum framework: the College prepares learners for the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) National Senior Certificate and the school also offers Advanced Placement (AP) subjects (AP Mathematics and AP English). The Early Learning School is explicitly Reggio Emilia–inspired. English is the language of instruction; the school's published material and results show provision in languages such as Afrikaans (First Additional Language), isiZulu and options including French as a foreign language. Reddam House Umhlanga operates both day and boutique-style boarding (weekly, termly and flexible), is set on about 17 hectares and publishes a range of facilities including an amphitheatre, media/AV and IT centres, design and technology studios, music/art/drama rooms, a heated swimming pool, extensive sports grounds, tennis/netball courts and a performing-arts auditorium. The programme emphasises academic, performing-arts and sports offerings alongside pastoral care and critical-thinking skills.
