Pupils are grouped into four school houses. The houses are named after the first four Prime Ministers of Sri Lanka: Don Stephen Senanayake, Dudley Shelton Senanayake, Sir John Lionel Kotelawala, and Solomon West Ridgeway Dias Bandaranaike.
Gateway College Negombo is part of the Gateway Group of Schools. The Gateway Group was founded by R. I. T. Alles.
Gateway College Negombo is a co-educational international school serving ages 2 to 18. Established in 2007, it sits beside the Negombo lagoon and offers a Foundation to Graduation framework from Play Group to Degree Level. The curriculum is modeled on the English National Curriculum, with local content in history, culture and civil society, and it includes British IGCSE, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS and A Levels, and BTEC qualifications. The program integrates academics, sports, co-curricular activities and personal development through a Curriculum Prism designed to prepare students for university and life. The campus features extensive facilities, including a 50-metre swimming pool, libraries, science and design technology laboratories, an Innovation Studio, an auditorium and ICT suites, with interactive whiteboards and BYOD at A Level. A rich co-curricular programme supports debating, MUN, drama, robotics, languages and service, with recognition at COMUN and participation in national and international events for students worldwide today.
