Facilities Overview

Gateway College Negombo operates a Foundation to Graduation framework, providing education from Play Group to Degree Level. Foundation Schools consist of colourful classrooms with reading corners, a spacious music room, a multipurpose room with a mini library, an IT suite and an indoor play room. The outdoor play area is equipped with equipment to support physical development for kids. Primary and Secondary schools are equipped with libraries, science laboratories, design and technology laboratories, rooms for Art and Crafts, Dance, Drama, Music, a Maths Lab, an Innovation Studio, an Auditorium and ICT suites. Interactive Whiteboards are used across classrooms, and internet access is provided in all Secondary classrooms; a BYOD policy applies at A Level; and the School-On-Line system automates many internal processes.

Sports Facilities

Negombo campus hosts a 50‑metre swimming pool. Across Gateway College, sport is integrated into the curriculum and facilities include a basketball court, a tennis court, indoor badminton facilities, a squash court, a gym and a floodlit futsal arena; a chess room is also provided for strategic play. These facilities support Gateway swimmers and athletes in national competitions, with swimming included in the early years program.

Academic Facilities

Primary and Secondary schools are equipped with libraries, science laboratories, design and technology laboratories, rooms for art and crafts, dance, drama and music, a maths lab, an innovation studio and an auditorium. ICT suites are available for digital learning, and interactive whiteboards are used to support teaching and learning. Internet access is provided in all Secondary classrooms, and a BYOD policy applies at A Level; School-On-Line (SOL) manages school processes.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Gateway's co-curricular programme includes a wide range of clubs and societies across campuses, such as Buddhist, Christian, Hindu and Islamic Societies, debating, drama, ICT, MUN, science, robotics, environmental and language clubs. The Model United Nations teams have achieved recognition, with Gateway earning ‘Best School' at COMUN, and students are encouraged to participate in national and international events. Clubs and societies are recognized at the College Awards Day, and Gateway supports participation in national and international competitions, including drama and other cultural activities.
