Gateway College Negombo was established in 2007. It is adjacent to the Negombo lagoon and boasts its own eco-friendly charm. It is recognised today as the leading international school in the North of Colombo. Over 900 students receive holistic education from a dynamic teaching staff in an environment equipped with modern facilities. Dr Devika Alldis is the Principal of Gateway College Negombo.
Gateway College Negombo offers a broad co-curricular programme with many clubs and societies. Students acquire soft skills by participating in activities such as Buddhist Society, Christian Society, Hindu Society, Islamic Society, Debating Club, ICT, Drama, MUN, Science, Environmental Society, English Literary Society, French Club, Interact Club, and more. Co-curricular activities are recognised at the College Awards Day, and Gateway encourages participation in national and international events, including COMUN where Gateway was named Best School, and participation in Harvard MUN and MUN at The Hague. Being multi-cultural and multi-religious is a part of our identity, and annual events such as Vesak lantern competition, Bhakthi Gee, Sil Campaign, Dhamma discussions, Islamic day, Christmas Carols, Christian Splendor, Saraswathi Pooja, Holi, and Avurudu in April are held.
Gateway College Negombo is a co-educational international school serving ages 2 to 18. Established in 2007, it sits beside the Negombo lagoon and offers a Foundation to Graduation framework from Play Group to Degree Level. The curriculum is modeled on the English National Curriculum, with local content in history, culture and civil society, and it includes British IGCSE, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS and A Levels, and BTEC qualifications. The program integrates academics, sports, co-curricular activities and personal development through a Curriculum Prism designed to prepare students for university and life. The campus features extensive facilities, including a 50-metre swimming pool, libraries, science and design technology laboratories, an Innovation Studio, an auditorium and ICT suites, with interactive whiteboards and BYOD at A Level. A rich co-curricular programme supports debating, MUN, drama, robotics, languages and service, with recognition at COMUN and participation in national and international events for students worldwide today.
