Gateway College Ratmalana offers an internationally oriented education for students aged 2–18, within a Sri Lankan context. The school follows a British curriculum with progression through Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge International AS and A Levels, enabling flexible pathways. The Gateway Curriculum Prism integrates academics, sport, co-curricular activities and character development to support the whole child. The Ratmalana campus, opened in 2018, features a floodlit football ground and a modern pavilion, plus a basketball court, cricket nets and a badminton court on a 3-acre site serving 300+ students. Academic facilities include ICT and science laboratories, STEM rooms, smart classrooms and a library; specialist arts spaces support drama, music and visual projects. A Production & Broadcasting Studio, Music Room and creative arts rooms underpin performance and media work. The school offers daily religious observances and a broad range of clubs, including Debating Club and MUN, and language and cultural societies.

Gateway follows the English National Curriculum together with selected local and value-based subjects that support the ethos of the school. In the Foundation stage, personal, social, and emotional development and communication are developed as part of the prime areas. The curriculum emphasizes holistic development and social-emotional aspects as learners progress through Key Stages, including English Language & Literature in KS3 and KS4, and a range of other subjects that contribute to personal growth.
Gateway follows the English National Curriculum together with selected local and value-based subjects that support the ethos of the school.
