Academic and Intellectual

The Primary and Secondary Schools offer a broad, well-balanced British Curriculum with a strong emphasis on creativity, excellence and enjoyment. Edexcel Pearson Exams are used, and students are prepared for the London O/L and A/L examinations, as well as the National O/L and A/L examinations. A National Curriculum for Year 1 was launched and is effective from September 2025 to provide flexibility in choosing academic pathways. Horizon Campus provides access to globally affiliated universities, and classrooms are described as state-of-the-art.

Arts and Creative

The school includes a dance room, music room and drama room, and offers an Aesthetics subject.

Cultural and Language

The school is an all-inclusive institution welcoming Sri Lankan and international students and aims to develop Horizonites who respect self and others within a multi-cultural global community.

Horizon College International is an international private school in Sri Lanka for ages 2 to 17, with its campus in Malabe and a branch in Nugegoda. It delivers the Edexcel Pearson IGCSE and the British Curriculum, complemented by the British National Curriculum, ICT, French and religious studies (Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam). The curriculum is organized into five sections: Pre-Primary (Montessori methods), Elementary School, Primary, Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary. In Year 6, students take the Edexcel Primary Achievement Test, and Horizon reports excellent results including world prize winners. Senior Secondary leads to IGCSE London O/L and Year 13 to IAL, with a 100% pass rate. The campus sits in lush green surroundings, designed to foster learning. Facilities include a modern library, science and computer labs, a speech lab, dance, music and drama rooms, a swimming pool, a sports ground, IT facilities and landscaped play areas, plus 24-hour security and transport.
