Lyceum International School is a co-educational network of campuses across Sri Lanka, founded in 1993 by Honourable Dr. Mohan Lal Grero to provide English-medium education from pre-school to Grade 12. The school offers two Upper School curricula: Pearson Edexcel International Curriculum and the National Curriculum taught in English Medium. Primary (Grade 1–5) and Middle (Grade 6–8) stages follow core subjects in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, plus Sinhala/Tamil, Art, Music, Physical Education and Computing (mandatory for Grades 1–8). Bharatha Natyam and Cultural Dancing are offered in selected branches. The Lyceum Global Foundation Programme is a one-year university-entry pathway approved by TVEC, with partnerships across Academic English, Fundamentals of Mathematics, Understanding Organisations and ICT. Facilities include karate dojo, computer lab, library, auditorium, science labs, tropical pool with lifeguards, and a gym, plus on-site health support. Clubs such as Debating Club, Model United Nations and Art Circle Society enrich learning globally.

Primary School years range from Grade 1 to 5, and the curriculum is developed for Lyceum students, updated to modern standards of teaching and evaluation. Subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Sinhala/Tamil, Religion, Art & Handwork, Music, Speech & Drama, Physical Education, and Soft Skills, with Bharatha Natyam and Cultural Dancing offered in selected branches. Computing is a core subject for Grades 1–8; Swimming is available in selected schools. Middle School years range from Grade 6 to 8 and follow National and International standards to prepare students for Upper School, with English, French, Mandarin Chinese, History and Geography, Mathematics, Science, Life Skills, and Religion; optional subjects include Western Music, Eastern Music, Cultural Dancing, Art & Handwork, Bharatha Natyam, French and Mandarin Chinese. Upper School offers two curricula: the National Curriculum taught in English Medium and the International Curriculum (Pearson Edexcel), with students choosing between Science and Commerce streams before Grade 9 and continuing to ALs; the International Curriculum core includes English B, English Literature, and Mathematics A, with optional subjects such as Computer Science, French, Sinhala, Tamil, Chinese, Global Citizenship, and Further Pure Mathematics. The Lyceum Guardian protects the learning journey, ensuring your child's education continues, even in the face of loss. The Guardian provides term-fee coverage for Grade 01 and above (from the 2026/2027 academic year) with optional coverage for textbooks, workbooks, uniforms, and examination fees. It offers peace of mind to Lyceum families with a single registration that supports ongoing education.
Lyceum Day Care offers student counselling and speech therapy on request. A panel of well-qualified Lyceum staff provides expert advice for student needs. Lyceum Day Care emphasizes a nurturing, safe environment and tailored support to meet the developmental needs of children. Health and safety measures are implemented across Day Care centres, including staff trained in basic First Aid and Fire Safety, with regular safety checks. Personalised care programmes are available to meet individual needs.
The International Curriculum at Lyceum is taught in English Medium (Pearsons Edexcel). The National Curriculum is taught in English Medium. Sinhala and Tamil are taught as second languages from Grades 1 to 8, and foreign students must study at least one language. Other languages such as French or Mandarin Chinese are available in selected schools.
The Lyceum Guardian emphasizes emotional well-being as part of comprehensive education continuity. Lyceum Day Care fosters well-balanced development and supports emotional and physical well-being. Admissions for LIS and LLS are open throughout the year and applicants are selected according to availability. To apply, access the application form by clicking Apply Now, select the applicable school, fill out the information, upload the birth certificate, and submit. Once submitted, the child's application is shortlisted and the School Admissions Office contacts shortlisted applicants for an interview. If there are no vacancies, the application is transferred to the Waiting List and priority is given according to the date of receipt of the application.
