Royal Institute International School, Gampaha branch, located at Hansagiri Junction, Yakkala Road, Gampaha, serves learners aged 2 to 18. Established on 16 September 2013, it is part of a network with a long history of teachers. The campus offers AMI Montessori for early years and Cambridge IGCSE and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE for secondary studies, with the National curriculum also taught at the Gampaha campus. This combination supports progression from early childhood to pre-university levels. Facilities include Biology, Physics and Chemistry laboratories, ICT laboratories, libraries, safe play areas for younger pupils, and a sports complex in Wijerama with a swimming pool, badminton and basketball courts, a gymnasium, and a cafeteria. Extracurriculars span service, leadership and intellectual activities; notable clubs include Interact, RIMUN Model United Nations, and the Drama Circle, along with Mathematics, IT, and Art clubs. Royal Institute International School - Gampaha teaches Montessori Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, Pearson Edexcel IGCSE for students aged 2 to 18.
AMI, Cambridge, Edexcel, and National curricula are followed at the Gampaha branch.
Gampaha prepares learners for GCE Ordinary Level (O-Level) and Advanced Level (A-Level) examinations under the national curriculum, and for Cambridge O-Level examinations under the Cambridge study program.
Spiritual guidance and counselling support social and emotional development. RI Dhamma School instills good values to develop empathy and concern for others. The Prefects' Guild provides student leadership opportunities to foster community and responsibility. Extracurricular activities such as sports and literary activities are integrated into the school routine to help students shape their identity and potential.
Mental wellbeing is supported through spiritual guidance and counselling, and RI Dhamma School contributes to values education that cultivates empathy and resilience. Students are encouraged to engage in activities using modern technology and participate in extracurricular programs to support personal growth and confidence.
1. Primary Admissions (Nursery to Grade 10): Parents/Guardians who wish to get their children admitted can obtain the necessary information from the Secretary (Admissions) at Havelock Town or any other branch schools at Nugegoda, Maharagama, Maya Avenue, and Gampaha. The students have to sit for a placement test before being admitted. According to the marks scored, the student is selected and admitted to the school. For the admission process, the following documents have to be submitted: a copy of the Birth Certificate; 2 stamp-size photographs. 2. Ordinary Level Admissions: The students who intend to enroll for their O-Level studies have to face a placement test before being admitted. According to marks obtained and the ability of the student, he/she will be selected and admitted to the school. For the admission process, the following documents have to be submitted: a copy of the Birth Certificate; Leaving certificate from the previous school; 2 Stamp size photographs. 3. Advanced Level Admissions: The students who intend to enroll for their A-Level studies can select their stream and combination of subjects based on the subjects being offered at school. The students have to face an interview with the Vice Principal and/or Principal after the above process. Admission requirements for Edexcel / National A-Levels are passes in not less than 6 subjects at the Cambridge O-Levels, IGCSE or Local O-Levels including Maths and English with at least 3 B passes and preferably a minimum of 2 B passes in the offering subjects for the A/Level course. Students can apply with pending OL results. For the admission process, the following documents have to be submitted: a copy of the Birth Certificate; a copy of the O-Level result sheet; Leaving certificate of previous school; 2 Stamp size photographs.
Awards under the Little Arts Art Competition include: First Place – 100% off the admission fee and 25% off the term fee for one year, plus a cash prize of LKR 25,000 and a certificate; Second Place – 100% off the admission fee and 15% off the term fee for one year, plus a cash prize of LKR 15,000 and a certificate; Third Place – 100% off the admission fee and 10% off the term fee for one year, plus a cash prize of LKR 10,000 and a certificate; Best Performance Students – 75% off the admission fee; Participants – 50% off the admission fee; Best Participating Nursery – LKR 25,000 cash prize and a Certificate of Appreciation. Scholarships are non-transferable and applicable only at Royal Institute International School.
