Introduction

Fees
Application / registration fees

- On admission parents must pay a non-refundable admission/application charge plus a refundable security deposit; the admission/application charge, the refundable deposit and the relevant term fee are payable to confirm a place.

Tuition fees by year group (per term and per year)

- The school does not publish a public, itemised fee table that lists tuition amounts by year group and by term for the Gampaha branch (or other branches) for the 2026/27 academic year (or 2025/26) in a downloadable schedule. Exact per-term and per-year figures by grade are not publicly posted. Parents must request the branch-specific fee schedule directly from the admissions office to obtain the formal per-term and per-year amounts.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Payment timing: Term fees are payable at the start of each school term; term fees should be paid during the first month of each term. On acceptance of an offered place the admission charge, refundable deposit and the relevant term fee are due.

- Late-payment surcharges: A surcharge is applied to late fee payments (a 5% surcharge is applied to late payments, with a higher surcharge if payment is delayed by more than one month).

- Invoice practice: Acceptance invoices commonly require payment of the first term (or semester) and may include a term-fee advance or deposit as separate line items.

Boarding fees

- Boarding is not listed among services for the Royal Institute International School branches; no public boarding/hostel fee schedule is published for the Gampaha branch. Therefore there are no publicly posted boarding fee amounts for the Gampaha branch.

Other costs and typical additional fees

- Additional costs commonly charged (but not published as fixed amounts) include: school uniform, textbooks and stationery, Cambridge/Edexcel examination fees where applicable, transport (school bus), extra-curricular activity or club fees, special event/excursion charges and any optional subject or resource levies. These ancillary charges are usually itemised separately on the admission invoice or term invoice rather than included in the headline tuition figure. Exact amounts for these items are not published in a public, per-grade fee table.

Refund information

- Admission/application charges are treated as non-refundable in the school's general admissions practice; a refundable security deposit is commonly required but the school does not publish a public, line-by-line refund schedule for term fees, deposits or development levies. Refund and withdrawal conditions (notice period, partial refunds, forfeiture rules) are handled through the school's formal fee and refund policy and by individual invoice/contract terms.

Fee payment options

- The school's public pages do not list a single, fixed list of accepted payment methods. In practice, similar local international schools and public listings indicate that invoices may be paid by bank transfer or via a school payment portal; third-party profiles also reference the use of a payment portal or bank transfer for corporate payments. Parents should expect standard payment methods such as bank transfer and organized online payment portals to be offered, with any card payments and foreign-currency processing handled by the school's finance office or its payment provider. Exact accepted methods and any card-processing surcharges are confirmed by the branch finance/admissions office.

Summary / important note for parents (why per-grade numbers are not shown here)

- The school provides an admission-and-term-fees interface for each branch but does not publish a public, itemised per-grade per-term fee table on its public pages; consequently exact tuition figures for each year group and the per-term totals for the Gampaha branch are not available in the public domain. The items above state the payment structure and common ancillary charges that parents should expect and budget for. To receive formal per-term and per-year fee amounts by grade for the Gampaha branch and for the 2026/27 (or 2025/26) academic year, request the branch fee schedule from the school's admissions/finance office.
