Fees

Annual tuition at Khartoum American School ranges from USD 6,250 to USD 23,500 for 2026/27.

Application fee
- USD 500 one-time, non-refundable application-processing fee payable before admissions testing. Payment may be made at the school Accountant's Office or by bank transfer to the school's U.S. bank account.

Tuition fees (annual) by year group
- Preschool (PS, age 3): USD 6,250 per year.
- Pre-Kindergarten (PK, age 4): USD 8,450 per year.
- Kindergarten through Grade 8: USD 18,730 per year.
- Grades 9–12: USD 23,500 per year.

Capital fee and technology fees
- Annual capital fee: PS–PK USD 825; K–Grade 8 USD 1,960; Grades 9–12 USD 2,370 (payable by all enrollees).
- One-to-one laptop fee: USD 1,500 for students entering Grade 4 and for new students in Grades 4–12 (parents may alternatively purchase an approved laptop privately).

Additional academic and support fees
- English-as-an-Additional-Language (EAL) support fee: USD 1,200 per semester when required.
- PTA family fee: USD 10 per family (included in the annual school fees).
- Lunch, snacks, school kiosk purchases, activity charges, school supplies and incidental charges are invoiced separately as applicable.

Per-term and payment-plan detail (how annual tuition is billed and collected)
- Annual payment: the full year's fees are invoiced in advance and are payable in full by the annual payment due date.
- Semester payment: the annual tuition may be split into two equal semester payments (each equal to 50% of the annual tuition).
- Quarterly plan: the invoice total (tuition plus capital and other invoiced fees) can be split into four payments on the following schedule: 35% (first payment), 30% (second payment), 20% (third payment), 15% (fourth payment). The first quarterly payment includes capital fees and all other initial charges. A 2% surcharge applies to the quarterly plan.

- Example structure (apply the percentages to the total invoice): for any grade the semester amount equals half the annual tuition; for the quarterly plan compute each quarter as the stated percentage of the full invoice. The capital fee is treated as part of the invoice and is included in the first payment under the quarterly plan.

Billing schedule and invoice timing
- Tuition invoices are issued in advance (the school issues invoices prior to the start of the academic year). Payment deadlines follow the selected payment option; under the annual plan the full invoice must be received by the school on or before the specified due date. Invoices may be issued earlier to account for local holidays and bank processing times. Late-payment penalties and consequences apply if payments are not received by the payable-by date.

Late payment penalties and consequences
- Late payment penalty accrues at USD 10 per day for overdue tuition. Consequences for non-payment include withholding of report cards/transcripts, suspension of access to IT portals, and restriction from classroom attendance until accounts are settled.

Refund policy (tuition only)
- Withdrawal during the first quarter: 70% of the annual tuition refunded.
- Withdrawal during the second quarter: 40% of the annual tuition refunded.
- Withdrawal during the third quarter: 15% of the annual tuition refunded.
- Withdrawal during the fourth quarter: no refund of tuition.

Sibling discounts
- First and second children: no discount.
- Third child: 25% discount on tuition.
- Fourth, fifth and sixth children: 50% discount on tuition.
- Seventh child and beyond: no further discounts apply.

Boarding fees
- Not applicable: Khartoum American School operates as a day school; there are no boarding fees.

Other common charges and one-off costs
- School-supplied consumables, lab fees, activity fees, field trips, uniforms and some extracurricular charges may be invoiced separately to parents under the incidental fees account. These incidental charges are billed as they arise and must be paid according to the invoice terms.

Payment methods and currency
- Accepted methods: USD check drawn on a U.S. checking account, bank transfer to the school's U.S. bank account, or USD cash. Up to 10% of total fees may be paid in Sudanese Pounds (SDG) at the Central Bank commercial rate in specified circumstances; local U.S. dollar checks from local banks are not accepted. Payment plans (annual, semester, quarterly) are available subject to approval.

Note on mandatory fees and inclusions
- Capital fee and any mandatory technology charges (such as the one-to-one laptop fee where applicable) are billed in addition to the tuition amounts above and are payable by all enrolled students; capital and technology charges are invoiced as part of the total fees. Where EAL or other specialized services are required, the applicable additional fee is invoiced per semester.
