Fees

Application fees
- Engelska Skolan Norr does not charge an application, registration or queue fee for placement in förskoleklass or grundskolan. Applications are made digitally via the school's application queue and Stockholm's school-choice process without any required payment at application.

Tuition fees by year group (per term / per year)
- There is no tuition charged for any year group (förskoleklass through year 9). Education in the compulsory school forms is provided without tuition fees; no per-term or per-year tuition invoices are issued for standard teaching.

Billing schedule and payment terms (where fees may apply)
- The school does not bill tuition, so there is no termly tuition billing schedule.
- For after‑school care (fritidshem) and similar child‑care services, fees follow Stockholm municipality's rules: the fritids fee is calculated monthly (as a percentage of household income with a maxtaxa cap) and is charged on a monthly invoice 12 months per year; the fee calculation and billing follow the municipality's timetable and invoicing procedures. If a place is offered mid‑month, billing starts from the date the place becomes available (partial month rules apply). Stockholms stad supports payment by autogiro and bankgiro for these municipal invoices.
- Occasional, small, non‑recurring charges (for example a single museum entrance or a local transport ticket associated with a specific activity) may be requested only when legally permitted as incidental costs; such charges are expected to be infrequent and of limited amount. Recurrent or compulsory charges for core education are not permitted.

Boarding fees (if applicable)
- Engelska Skolan Norr is a day school; the school does not operate boarding or residential provision. No boarding fees apply.

Other costs or fees (uniform, meals, materials, trips, extracurriculars)
- Uniform: The school does not list or require a mandatory school uniform as a feeed item; no compulsory uniform charges apply. (Swedish compulsory school practice generally does not rely on mandatory paid uniforms.)
- School meals: School lunches in the compulsory school years are provided as part of the school system and are not charged separately to pupils in primary school in Stockholm. Separate meal charges for compulsory school pupils are not the normal practice.
- Learning materials and textbooks: Core teaching is covered by public funding; schools may provide or request small contributions for voluntary or personal materials in limited, non‑recurring cases only where allowed. Any required learning materials provided as part of standard instruction are not charged as tuition.
- Excursions, school trips and extracurricular activities: Reasonable, occasional charges for specific trips or optional extracurricular activities may be invoiced separately; these must be limited, infrequent and not a substitute for free core instruction. If a fee is charged for a specific optional activity, it will normally be billed separately and communicated to parents prior to the activity.

Refund information
- For municipal child‑care/fritids fees: Stockholm's billing rules allow correction and refunds in cases of overpayment (Stockholm notes potential refunds for over‑payment and adjustments; routine reconciliations are performed against registered income). Specific refund timeframes and amounts follow Stockholm's invoicing and adjustment rules.
- For other voluntary activity charges (excursions, optional clubs): refunds or cancellations are handled on a case‑by‑case basis and will follow the school's stated terms for that particular activity; incidental charges that are not permitted under the law would be subject to adjustment.

Fee payment options
- Where municipal child‑care/fritids fees apply, payment methods accepted include autogiro (direct debit) and payment via Stockholm's bankgiro (use the Education Committee's payment details and your customer number on invoices). Monthly invoicing is standard for these charges.
- For any separately invoiced optional activity (short trips, clubs), payment methods and instructions will be stated on that invoice; typical options include bank transfer/bankgiro or the payment channels the school specifies for the specific activity.

If your child is enrolled in a preschool or in a separately run fritids that is part of the school group, note that preschool/fritids fees are regulated differently (municipal maxtaxa rules apply) and are billed according to the municipal schedule described above.

Engelska Skolan Norr is a two-campus independent school in Stockholm's Östermalm, serving ages 6 to 18. It follows the Swedish national curriculum with a bilingual program in which roughly half of all lessons are taught in English. The ninth grade can prepare for and graduate with Cambridge English qualifications, and Cambridge IGCSE offers additional external options. Established in 1993 as Sweden's first independent school to follow the national curriculum while delivering in-depth English language education, ESN Norr joined the Atvexa group in 2013. The Roslagstullsbacken and Alba Nova campuses accommodate about 540 pupils, with each student receiving a Chromebook and access to a library of over 9,000 books. A Vetenskapens Hus partnership provides university-level science, mathematics and technology activities. In 2024–25 ESN Norr became a Cambridge Associate School and operates an IGCSE examination centre for external candidates; from 2025, ESL, Maths and English Literature IGCSE courses are available. Approximately 95% progress to university follows Cambridge qualifications.
