Discovery Enrichment classes are offered in Middle School once a week. They enhance learning beyond curricular offerings and may include film production, stamina running, chess, MUN, and more. Students select Discovery Enrichment at the beginning of each year or upon enrollment. Selections are on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to 25 students per section.
The school teaches Expressive Arts, with Art offered in Grades 1-5, Music in Grades 1-9, and an Expressive Arts program led by a dedicated staff. Expressive Arts is taught by a team of specialists as part of the arts offering. Discovery Enrichment provides creative activities such as film production.
Global Citizenship Program (GCP) nurtures international mindedness and active societal engagement. It aligns with IPC and IMYC and Good Life Goals, encouraging community service, awareness campaigns, and intercultural dialogue. Through donations, knowledge exchanges, and cultural celebrations, learners build empathy and global competence. Local partnerships include Hands2Ocean and Stockholm Stadsmission, and international links involve an exchange and humanitarian work in Athens.
ASEP provides varied extracurricular after-school activities for Grades 1–9, run by the PTA in association with school staff; ASEP is not part of FRITIDS. Fritids is after-school care for the school day for Grades 1–6, with morning hours and afternoon hours and creative work and play as core components.
Community Exchange offers voluntary activities designed to address community needs and to develop global citizenship and international mindedness. It expands students' view of the local and international community and includes graded hours: 6th Grade – 6 hours, 7th Grade – 7 hours, 8th Grade – 8 hours, 9th Grade – 9 hours.
In Grade 9, students complete a 6-month Discovery Project, an independent project based on the student's interests and talents, resulting in a product or outcome presented at the end of Grade 9. The Discovery Project strengthens research, reflection, personal engagement, creativity and project management, preparing students to be motivated independent learners in high school.
Fritids hours include Morning Fritids Open Hours: 7:00am–8:15am and Afternoon Fritids Open Hours: 3:00pm–5:30pm. Fritids supplements the school day and emphasizes creative work and play.
Futuraskolan International School of Stockholm is a private international school for ages 5 to 15, offering IPC in Grades 1–5 and IMYC in Grades 6–9, with an American curriculum framework and Common Core standards for Math and Literacy. English is the language of instruction; modern language courses are taught separately, and dedicated spaces support EAL and Swedish language learning. The school is authorized by Swedish authorities and supervised by the Swedish School Inspection, reflecting its international focus within the Swedish system. The campus is a courthouse renovated in 2011 in Östermalm, Stockholm, shared with a bilingual school. Facilities include a library, 16 classrooms, 12 rooms for EAL, Swedish and Music, plus a movement room and a PE hall. Grade 9 culminates in a six-month Discovery Project; Discovery Enrichment classes include film production, chess and MUN, with community links through the Global Citizenship Program.
