Admissions

Admissions

1. Queue system and management. IES uses SchoolSoft for the queue and intake management. Registration for the queue requires BankID, which is used to log in and to update the applicant's details. The queue is first-come, first-served, and sibling priority applies when a sibling currently attends or has been accepted at an IES school at the time the next sibling is due to start.

2. Applying to the school. The application window is open all year round and you may apply to multiple schools at the same time. To apply, click the apply here option, select the school, and log in with BankID to fill in your personal details. If you do not have BankID, an alternative application form is available.

3. Multiple queues. If you have applied to one school but want to join the queue for another school, each school maintains its own queue and queue times cannot be transferred. You may be in the queue for multiple schools simultaneously by logging into your SchoolSoft profile. A child can be placed in the queue from February 1st the year after birth.

4. Residency and visits. Offers are issued only to students who are registered residents in Sweden (folkbokförda). If not currently living in Sweden, you can join the queue, but admissions are limited by residency requirements.

5. Visiting the school. Visits before applying are possible; contact the school's admissions team for information about visit opportunities. Open house days can be found on each school's website.

6. Entrance exams. Entrance exams are not required for admission. Places are allocated based on queue time.

7. Waiting times and queue position. Waiting times vary by school and your queue position may change if other applicants become eligible for sibling priority.

8. Notifications and offers. Before the admissions process begins, the school will email to notify that the process is underway. If you are offered a place, you must respond within the specified deadline; if no response is received, the offer will be given to the next person in the queue.

9. Declining offers and reapplication. If you decline an offer, you forfeit your place in the queue; if you change your mind later, you can submit a new application.
