Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

LFSL Stockholm was established in 1959. The Lyce9e Frane7ais Saint Louis Foundation in Stockholm, a Swedish foundation, was founded through the Constitution Act of 4 October 1963 and governs the school under Swedish foundation law. Since 1992 LFSL has had an AEFE agreement enabling instruction based on the French curriculum for CP to Terminale. The Headmaster is Denis Ravaille. Guillaume Lefebvre is the Chairman of the LFSL Foundation's Board. The Swedish Förskola (preschool) is Swedish and is managed directly by the LFSL Foundation and is not included in the AEFE agreement.

Community

The LFSL community engages in events coordinated with school management and teachers to foster a multilingual, multicultural environment. During Nobel Week, the Parents' Association funds museum visits for primary students, with a French-speaking guide and Nobel lunch. The Solidarity Run raised 125,000 SEK in 2023 for the Childhood Cancer Fund. Lucia celebrations and other candy pauses, as well as the year-end Kermesse, are part of LFSL's community life.

Parent-Teacher Association

The Parents' Association is a non-profit Swedish association. It organizes events and projects related to the French High School Saint Louis in Stockholm, in coordination with the school management and teachers, for the well-being and development of the children from grade 1 to the end of high school. It initiates and carries out events, supports initiatives, strengthens the sense of belonging, and is involved in school life. Membership for the 2025-2026 school year is 350 SEK per child. The 2025-2026 Governing Board includes President Kevin Renaudin, Vice-President Melinda Bardin, Treasurer Ange9lique Kaba Hf6gstrf6m, and Secretaries Rebecca Lagerkvist (SE) and Ludovic Garattini (FR). The APE also appoints representatives to the school and secondary school elections to pass on questions and concerns through official representative bodies.

The school offers a homologated French curriculum from CP to Terminale, with an on-site Swedish Förskola for younger children. Since 2022 LFSL also offers the French International Baccalaureate (BFI) in a trilingual French–Swedish–English format, alongside the standard Baccalauréat path and the possibility of a dual Baccalauréat with a Gymnasieexamen for Swedish-speaking students. All students study Swedish from first grade, and a Swedish international section connects the French and Swedish education systems, with continuous assessment and final exams including a major oral at Terminale. The campus houses a CDI library, a school canteen, and after-school care (Fritidshem) per Stockholm Municipality. Extracurricular options include a Rugby Club Lycée Français after-school sessions and seasonal tournaments. A distinctive feature is the integration of Swedish language and the BF I program within the AEFE network.
