- All schools in the Nordic International School network operate without tuition charges and are funded via the Swedish national school voucher system.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- There is no tuition invoicing for compulsory schooling, so there is no termly or annual tuition billing schedule or tuition payment terms for students in Grades 4–9.
- Optional charges (see “Other costs or fees” below) are billed separately and follow the invoicing and payment terms of the party charging them (for example the municipality for after‑school care or an external provider for optional activities). Such optional charges are normally invoiced to the registered guardian and billed on the schedule set by the billing party.

Boarding fees (if applicable)

- Not applicable. Nordic International School Karlstad is a day primary school (Grades 4–9) and does not provide boarding; therefore there are no boarding fees.

Other costs or fees (uniforms, meals, trips, materials, after‑school care, extracurriculars)

- School uniform: Provided at no cost in the network's previous practice; the school network has moved to stop recommending a full uniform as of the fall term 2025 and offers two complimentary items (a dark blue t‑shirt and a dark blue sweatshirt) to students. These uniform items are supplied free of charge.
- School meals: Compulsory‑school pupils in Sweden receive meals provided by the school system; families at Nordic International School do not pay tuition for schooling and routine school meal provision follows the national/municipal arrangements for compulsory schools.
- School materials and basic learning resources: The school network historically supplies necessary school materials and basic classroom resources; where external providers run optional clubs or services, those providers may charge separate fees.
- After‑school care (fritids): After‑school care is a voluntary service that may carry municipal fees (maxtaxa) and is billed separately by the municipality or the provider; these fees are not the school's tuition and are charged on the municipality's invoicing schedule.
- Trips and extracurricular activities: Charges for optional school trips, external activities, or third‑party programmes may apply and are invoiced separately by the organiser or provider; amounts and payment terms vary by activity.

Refund information

- Tuition refunds: Not applicable — there is no tuition to refund for compulsory schooling at Nordic International School Karlstad.
- Refunds for optional paid services: Refund policies for any optional charges (for example after‑school care, external clubs, paid school trips, deposits) are set by the billing party (municipality or external provider) and will vary by service; refund terms should be confirmed with the party that issues the invoice.

Fee payment options

- Tuition payment options: Not applicable (no tuition charged).
- Payment options for any invoiced, optional charges: Methods vary by the invoicing party; common arrangements include paying by bank transfer (invoice/Swedish bank details), direct debit or municipal/online payment portals.
