Applications are welcome year-round at QSI Dushanbe to accommodate various school year patterns. Applications are accepted for all grades from early childhood to secondary. The placement of students into grade levels is determined by three criteria: the student's age as of October 31, the student's evaluation in entrance exams, and the student's academic history or grades from previous schools. The application process has four stages: Stage 1: Contact/Visit the school; Stage 2: Online Application & Fee; Stage 3: Review Process: Placement Test & Interview; Stage 4: Admissions Decision. Stage 1 involves contacting the Admissions Office to schedule a school tour, with options for a virtual conference if not in Tajikistan. Stage 2 requires completing the online application and uploading documents: passport copies of student and parents and/or birth certificate, copies of previous school records and transcripts, immunization records, and one passport‑size photo of student and parents; and paying a one-time 300 USD application processing and testing fee. Stage 3 includes a thorough review of the application, followed by coordinating a placement test and interview. The test for students aged 6 and above covers reading, language, and mathematics; the MAP entrance test assesses Reading, Mathematics, and Language Usage and is conducted in English; a written essay may be requested for students aged 8 and older; placement decisions are based on MAP results, classroom observations, and other relevant information, with the final decision made by the Director. Stage 4 is the Admissions Decision, with outcomes including acceptance if a spot is available, placement on a waiting list if no spots are available, or non‑acceptance if the Admissions Committee determines the school is not a fit. Documents submitted for admissions must be translated into English. The school accepts applications and offers admission at any time during the school year; children who are 3 years old or older before October 31 are eligible.
If we accept an applicant but no spots are available in the appropriate class, the applicant is placed on the waiting list. As soon as a spot becomes available, it will be offered to a suitable student on the waiting list.
QSI International School of Dushanbe offers an American international education for students aged 3 to 18. The program uses a mastery-based curriculum guided by Exit Outcomes across three domains—Success Orientations, Competencies, and Knowledge—with units designed for mastery and grades awarded as A, B, or P. Placement assessments in mathematics, reading, and writing determine placement, and Intensive English provides small teacher-student ratios to support language learners. AP courses are available for Secondary II–IV, supported by MAP Testing to monitor growth. The campus moved in 2022 to a two-building, four-story facility with 30 classrooms plus dedicated spaces for Art, Music, science labs, a theater, a gym, and a cafeteria for over 100, serving about 350 students and enabling future enrollment growth. The school emphasizes creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. Extracurriculars include drama and a thriving Student Council, National English Honors Society, and athletic programs such as cross country, soccer, and volleyball.
