Laureate International School was founded with the motto 'education is for life' and operates as a multicultural international school with strong Tanzanian principles. The first Laureate School classroom began in 1994 in Mikocheni B, Dar Es Salaam, and gradually expanded to additional locations. Growth is attributed to the dedication of teachers, non-teaching staff, management, and the cooperation of parents. Founding administrators include Mrs. Menesses, Late Mr. Patel, Mr. John Walker, Mrs. Zuhura Salim Ali and Mrs. Hunte among others.
About 3,000 students representing more than 10 nationalities, and 80% of students speak more than one langage.
