FASP offers a PreK-8 bilingual program that blends French and American teaching methods to promote high-level thinking and learning. The program welcomes students from 30 months through eighth grade, with no French required through grade 5 and cross-language transfer building bilingual fluency. In grades 6–8, students must demonstrate French proficiency and participate in an admissions assessment. Graduates speak fluently in both languages and are prepared to adapt to diverse educational settings.
Visual Arts and Music are integrated into the Early Childhood curriculum, exposing students to international artists and allowing them to create artwork in various media. The music program supports bilingual education, with singing in both French and English to develop language skills. Elementary students engage in Clay Artworks and Reading Rally, and middle school offers broader art, film, gardening, STEM, and other creative projects.
More than 30 countries are represented in the student body, and about 20 languages are spoken within the school community. The dual-language program teaches subjects in both English and French, with no French knowledge required for admission up to grade 5. The After School Program runs before and after the school day, from 7:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with childcare, study hall, and a range of activities. Registration is flexible, with options to enroll for one to five days per week and activities that vary by trimester. The program includes after-school activities and inter-level athletics for Grades 4–8.
FASP has appointed Fabrice Urrizalqui as the next Head of School, effective July 1, 2026. The Board of Trustees governs the school and includes officers such as the Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. The school is accredited by AEFE, MSA-CESS, and NJAIS and is a member of NAIS and AFSA.
The well-being of students is a priority, with the curriculum addressing physiological, emotional, and intellectual needs. Health and wellness support services are provided to enhance well-being beyond academics. The Physical Education program runs PreK–8, and interscholastic athletics are offered for 4–8, emphasizing health, teamwork, and personal development.
French American School of Princeton is an independent bilingual day school serving ages 3 through 14, offering a blend of French and American teaching. The Preschool–8 program uses cross-language transfer to build fluency in both languages. No prior French knowledge is required through Grade 3; Grades 1–5 students receive additional French support (FLE). The 42-acre campus beside Lake Carnegie in Princeton includes a gym, a soccer field, and multiple recess areas within neo-Gothic facilities, including a chapel and a stage. Textbooks are bilingual, and middle school students receive iPads.
