Founded in 1986, the French School of Detroit is an American 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. The curriculum is AEFE-certified from preschool through 8th grade and includes preparation for the Brevet and the Epreuve Anticipée de Français du Baccalauréat; it combines the French Ministry of Education program with immersion in two local Birmingham Public Schools (Pierce Elementary School in Birmingham and West Maple Elementary School in Bloomfield Hills) with transportation provided by BPS.
