Lycée Français de San Diego (LFSD) is a private bilingual immersion school in central San Diego, accredited by the French Ministry of Education and affiliated with the AEFE network. The school serves ages 2 through 15, offering pre-K to 8th grade on two campuses, including La Petite Ecole. LFSD follows a French curriculum with a fully immersive French program; preschool is 100% French, while Kindergarten includes 45 minutes of English language arts daily. Grades 1-3 are taught in French with 60 minutes of English daily, and Grades 4-8 add Spanish language arts alongside core subjects. The program prepares students to continue their education in U.S. schools, AEFE institutions worldwide (over 600) or other international programs such as the IB. LFSD is a nonprofit (501(c)(3)) with about 215 students from 29 nationalities. Extensive after-school enrichment emphasizes STEM, arts, and language, plus field trips, sports, and clubs. Grades 4 to 8 cover French language arts, English language arts, and Spanish language arts alongside Mathematics, Science & Technology, History & Geography, Civics, Fine Arts, and Physical Education. By the end of the program, LFSD students are prepared to pursue education in U.S. schools, French AEFE institutions (over 600 schools worldwide), or other international programs such as the International Baccalaureate (IB). LFSD is accredited by the French Ministry of Education and is part of the AEFE network.
LFSD graduates may continue their education in U.S. schools, French AEFE network schools, or International Baccalaureate programs.
