Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

A typical NAISNY day includes group reflections where students summarize, reflect on, and discuss what they've learned with peers. Lunchtime relaxation features calming yoga activities to center students. Time is devoted to social and emotional well-being and to thoughts about goals and the transition to high school. Specialist lessons across dance, drama, music, PE, the creative arts, and Spanish help students express themselves confidently and collaborate.

Mental Wellbeing

Group reflections give students a voice and the opportunity to share what they've learned with peers, reinforcing social and emotional learning. Lunchtime relaxation activities, including calming yoga, support mental calm and focus. The day's structure centers on social and emotional well-being and prepares students for the transition to high school, contributing to their overall mental wellbeing.
